Dava's Hitchhikers Guide To.. the Act of Union

A long long time ago in a land ye might be in right now, a Scottish King sat on an English Throne, he wanted peace, and envisioned the union of the two countries. This did come about, but with much cloak and dagger, I imagine that King did not plan. Call the tale 'revisionist history' awe ye wa'nt, but if ye look hard enough, ye'll see clearly the theories put forward here could be mare than just theories.

The Scottish Court (nobleman and politicians) were desperate to garner favor from the then English King, William III of England, and hearing great tales of luxurious riches to be made by exploring and importing, especially the tales heard of the 'East India Company', they were keen to say the understated least.

Now it's easy to see what they were trying to do.. however.. is it possible that you are a mind like mine in this? So the English Kings men and the English King's spy take all of Scotland's meager wealth for a jaunt around Central America, and only the spy and one man returned?

It's obvious to see the King didn't care about Scotland or he would have granted the request of a loan of capital. The East India Company was already earning him a small fortune taxes, and trade and most likely gifts of exotic hard to aquire items. So what worth was Scotland to him? Would it not be better if he sabotaged the remaining accumulation of Scotland wealth? Then he wouldn't even need to go to Scotland or hear 2 different sets of complaining or 2 sets or different politicians, 2 different sets of people to bribe to keep control.. The English had wanted Scotland as their own for around 800 years (at that time).. this would have been a perfect opportunity. to send a spy and some men.. then tell each of the men to kill the other scots, then set them against each other with lies, then only the spy might remain.. oh! and someone to get the spy home.

When they returned, it meant that Scotland was broke. The King would not give any money to Scotland or help. Why would he.. he was MEANT to be KING of SCOTLAND but he wasn't, he was a selfish King of Pigs, that would let scots both loyal and not loyal to him starve, if we did not surrender our freedom to the English. We fought and deserved our freedom.. and because of that King of Pigs we had to give it up. And it seems by design,

Noo am no wan fur English royalty.. my last Queen was Mary Queen of Scots, a Catholic Queen, but Ah will say, I really liked Queen Victoria, I felt she loved us, not as some wee patronized ragamuffins, but as a full partner in the idea of a United Kingdom. The current Queen of England a'naw.. she has decent ideas, but gee'n Prince Phillip, Edinburgh, was an erroneous miscalculation, making him the 'de facto' King of Scotland.. when he lacks a soul of Scotland in him, was just plain wrong. I heard what he thinks of 'the Scots'.. it is a barefaced cheeky he has anywise o' a throne of any kind in Scotland. I like Queen Elizabeth II.. I *felt* something deeper for Queen Victoria, but again Ah tell ye, my last Queen was Mary Queen of Scots, fur her many many faults, She fought fur us to be separate which was the will of the people that we fought for 800 YEARS. *that* deserves my fealty, She was Catholic, and the Crown was Catholic, which is something I am denied now. I don't have a problem with a Protestant Scottish King or Queen, but then again THEY DO have a problem with a Catholic Scottish King or Queen, so then I MUST have a problem with that.

Why am I sad on my wedding day?

Scotland married England in showers of tears of sorrow. His smug self satisfying attitude .. finally sated, 800 years he wanted to laud over me.. now he had it!

Even today when I meet *some* English.. even without them knowing it, they still have that same self satisfaction, assuming superiority, that they finally got us.

And what did they do once they got us? The EU did a better job in 30 years of looking after us than the English did in 290.

I find debating with the English is usually quite disgusting, because you are in a situation where you are arguing with your.. I won't say oppressor, because thats too far, but occupier, asin~ we are a long term occupied country ..they sit there with their smug union jack flag smiles of condescension, speaking like some erudite professor of politics, spouting imagined facts and opinions, one can only assume are what help them sleep at night, and deep rooted self satisfaction.

AH JIST WA'NT TÆ GO!!

Update 06/04/17

Thinkin aboot this again..

It wida been better fur Prince William tæ be the Duke of Edinburgh/Prince of Scotland, see'n he's got Celt blood in him fæ his Grandmother's side,, she wis Catholic a'naw, if Queen Elizabeth accepted Catholic ascension to the Throne, she would heal the wounds of a centuries auld lament, something the Prince may consider should he ascend. Wan thing though.. his children should marry Scots.

Aboot Prince Philip, he shoulda been Prince of Akrotiri and Dhekelia (Cyprus) as he wis a greek prince and this would suit.

Survey : Do Scots 'Feel' Part of 'Britain'? ..the results

Upfront and foremost, I feel a lack of input from the unionist side, has slanted this survey.  But as I couldn't find many Scottish unionists to take part, what was I meant to do? :/

Results: around 230 submittants. around 40 disqualifications due to being 'out of country' and even one owning up to being a 'English Ninja' o.O boggles the mind! please see below. SurveyMonkey blocks past 100, but these became vital when filling disqualifications.

Starting with the logic that 'There must be many Angolans in Angola' so it follows there must be many Scots in Scotland. Below is a person who admitted to being English even though it was strictly stated that only Scots were welcome to take the survey. no matter.

No many folk fell fur ma wee trick question, but ye were fun oot when ye applied from aroon the world, as weh ma'st survey sites SurveyMonkey hus a few modest tools that kin be used tæ fun oot a submittants location.

And tæ the rest o'yez thanks fur taking part, even if we couldn't rustle up any opposing forces tæ get a clear view. it wis appreciated!
